No. Thanks to the generous funding from the Nominet Trust, we have access to a small number of laptops and wireless dongle keys that we can loan to participants for the duration of the course. If you need this support, do mention this on your application. However, we have found that if you have access to your own laptop and have access to the internet, this makes it easier to take up work opportunities after the course.
We have no current dates for the Academy.
Participants will be expected to do a minimum of 16 hours of training per week (8 hours learning and 8 hours completing the assignments. You will get out of the course what you put in.
All students who graduate successfully i.e. have completed all Modules of the course satisfactorily will be given the opportunity to complete virtual work experience with a suitable client and will be introduced to potential clients for work. More information on this will be included in the course.
Every two weeks, we will have a live meetup at co-working and training space The Cube in Commercial Street, E1. The meetups are a chance to get support with your learning and assignments, meet other students on the course, and have fun!
Attendance at the meetups is not compulsory but is highly recommended. If you cannot attend in person, you will be able to attend via Skype.
In between the meetups we also have weekly virtual hangouts on Google Hangouts to provide support between meetups.
Of course. We will have a closed Facebook Group where we can network, ask questions and get support from one another as well as the weekly Google Hangouts.
